Rev. Andrew Jacob, Pastor

The Rev. Andy Jacob has been serving as Hanover’s pastor since July 2008. Raised across the river in New Jersey, Andy came to Wilmington from Ohio, where he had served as pastor of a congregation in Cleveland for ten years, and then for three years as an Associate Executive Presbyter in the Presbytery of the Western Reserve. His experience and passion is for ministries that nurture and challenge members, especially to work for transformation in the world. When not around the church, you will likely find him in the woods or by the water, enjoying a good meal with family and friends, or getting in trouble for rooting for those arch-rival teams from New York…

Andy’s wife, Nona Holy, also a minister, is serving as the Presbyterian campus pastor at the University of Delaware. Their sons, Christopher and Jonathan, do their best to keep their parents in line and in shape.
Rev. Kathie Pownall, Pastoral Associate

Having pastored a small church (Chesapeake City, Maryland), I like to think of Hanover as just a larger version of small congregations continuously getting  to know each other - in worship, in work, and in sharing life's journeys together. God is continually offering me "new" beginnings as I become acquainted with all of the family and friends in this church community.  Preaching, teaching, and visiting, to name a few responsibilities, are wonderful avenues to get to know so many wonderful people.   I look forward to what challenges and opportunities God will give us here as we discern the work to be done.

Matthia McCracken, Organizing Assistant

Matthia (Tia) McCracken is serving Hanover and the community as an organizing assistant.  She will work closely with Pastor Jacob and the Hanover congregation as a project coordinator for the faith-based community organizing that Hanover is engaging in. This position is supported by a grant from the Speer Trust Foundation.  Tia brings enthusiasm, interpersonal skills, and experience as an administrator to this position of service.

Greg Harris, Youth Leader

Greg Harris has grown up at Hanover and it is a joy to welcome him to our staff, as our youth leader.  Greg is a sophomore at the University of Delaware, majoring in music education.  Greg has experience as a trumpet music teacher and as a camp counselor.  He also served as Assistant Director of Youth Community Builders, a summer camp for inner-city youth held at Hanover.

Melvin Matthews, Church Sexton

Melvin is the friendly presence at Hanover during the week when the rest of us are absent. He is always lending a hand when we meet that "I don't know where it is or what to do" obstacle.
