Music at Hanover

On any given Sunday in worship, you're likely to hear the Hanover Choir sing a Handel chorus with organ and trumpet, South African freedom songs with congas, and sweet gospel music with piano, bass and drums. We chant the psalms, meditate with Taize music, raise our voices in Mendelssohn and Rutter, and proclaim the faith in songs of the church universal from cultures all over the world.
Our all-volunteer choir ranges in age from teens to sixties, in pitch from the b below low c to the e above high c, and in faith background from Baptist to Catholic to Pentecostal to genetic Presbyterian (and most points in between!).
The Hanover Choir has sung at Wilmington's Grand Opera House for ML King day celebrations, in Philadelphia for the Interfaith Working Group's Marching in the Light concerts, and most recently, at National City Christian Church in Washington, D.C., as part of the interfaith worship service during the LGBT Millenium March on Washington.
We rehearse on Thursday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 and have no strict attendance policy. If you love to sing, drop in some Thursday night and lift your voice with ours. All God's children are welcomed (most especially tenors!)
