Delaware is launching a new community-based initiative—Delaware Readiness Teams—made up of school and community leaders, early childhood providers, and families, to build partnerships that assure its young children, birth to age 8, have the critical resources and supports to enter kindergarten ready to learn and achieve early school success. 90% of brain development occurs before the age of five, creating 700 neural connections every second. Early experiences count – positive experiences enhance lifelong positive outcomes.
Hanover is participating in this initiative by creating the Hanover Dream Team, a Readiness Team. We began by conducting focus groups to hear about the families in our community and the challenges parents and children face. On June 30, we invite the families that participated in our focus groups to an appreciation dinner for giving their time to this initiative.
