Scripture Passages
II Corinthians 9:10-15
Psalm 133
1 How very good and pleasant it is
when kindred live together in unity!
2 It is like the precious oil on the head,
   running down upon the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down over the collar of his robes.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion.
For there the Lord ordained his blessing,
   life for evermore.

Stewardship Prayer
Oh Lord, giver of life and source of our freedom, we are reminded that Yours is “the earth in its fullness; the world and those who dwell in it.” We know that it is from your hand that we have received all we have and are and will be. Gracious and loving God, we understand that you call us to be the stewards of Your abundance, the caretakers of all you have entrusted to us. Help us always to use your gifts wisely and teach us to share them generously. May our faithful stewardship bear witness to the love of Christ in our lives. We pray this with grateful hearts in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Weaving Community and Stewardship
This Sunday is the second of two Stewardship Sundays.  We will continue to rejoice in the strength and meaning of being woven in community together.  We will also receive and bless our pledges for 2018.  May God bless our stewardship and all of the goodness it produces.
On Monday more than one hundred people will come to the church to receive a turkey basket, with a bird and all the fixins for a Thanksgiving day meal.  We offer our thanks to the BTL Foundation, which once again this year supported our efforts.  We thank all of the volunteers who collected and stored the food, and those who will package and distribute the baskets.  We give thanks to all who donated birds, sides, and funds.  And special thanks to Becky and Tim Arnold who once again led this ministry of hospitality through food.

Order Your Wreath for Peace Today
(and don’t forget about Music for Peace and Cards for Peace!)

These full, lush wreaths are made from the fragrant balsam grown in Maine. They are nearly 24 inches in diameter and double-sided. The front of the wreath is decorated with a red ribbon with the words, “Peace on Earth”, a cluster of pine cones, and two beautiful doves—  one of which is carved wood from Lativa, the other has been decorated by local school children.  Both double as tree ornaments.

Every wreath sold benefits Pacem in Terris and supports activities for peace and social justice in our community and throughout our world.
