Hanover Street Presbyterian Church is a place where people are welcomed and made to feel a part of a community of faith. An environment of acceptance and love is evident in our worship, in our Christian education classes, in our social activities, in the work of our committees and our staff, and especially in our commitment to mission. We seek to maintain a welcoming place for worshipping God, that combines tradition with innovation. We value a thoughtful, theological approach to the study of scripture, seeking God's Word in light of current reality. We value the role of music in our worship, with its blend of new and traditional music. We seek to preserve the involvement of lay leadership in our worship experiences and strengthen the participation of youth.

Preserve and strengthen a caring, open atmosphere, with a commitment to diversity and inclusiveness...

We are strengthened and enriched by the diversity of our members, the differences in age, gender, sexual orientation, race, social and economic status, ethnicity and philosophy. We seek to improve our communication with our support of all members of our church family, placing a special emphasis on ministering to home-bound and older members, and those who may feel excluded or isolated. We need to emphasize our interest in growth and outreach, within our own community and beyond.

We endeavor to act as God's hands in the community, our neighborhoods, the broader community, and the world. By putting our compassion into action, we strive to continue to support our current mission programs, through stewardship of time, talent and financial support. We need to be vigilant to achieve the most effective means of reaching those in need, cementing our commitment to love and helping all of God's people.

We need to strengthen our Christian education through leadership, congregational support, and devotional, educational and social experiences. We seek to help our children and youth grow and flourish through creative programs, enhancing our Church School curriculum and youth music programs, providing Youth Fellowship activities and leadership opportunities, and supporting outreach activities for children and youth in the surrounding neighborhood.
