Family Promise Volunteer Week: February 1-8

“Family Promise of Northern New Castle County is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that prevents and ends homelessness for families. We provide a safe place to eat and sleep, intensive case management, support, and hope.

Our work is accomplished through a network of congregations that host families directly in their houses of worship, staffed by caring volunteers who have put their faith into action. We are a community of faith-based congregations, volunteers and homeless families with children growing in faith, hope, and love.”

Hanover participates in the mission of Family Promise along with five other congregations in the Ninth Ward. The families live for a week at Peninsula-McCabe United Methodist Church, and the volunteer staff is provided by the other interfaith congregations. We provide meals, supplies, and our time to these families in need.

We need volunteers for February 1-8 in a variety of roles. Volunteers can provide transportation, prepare meals, visit with the families, or stay overnight at Peninsula-McCabe.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Beth Undercuffler.
